Ahhh! That's a bummer. I don't recommend moving to DC (to anyone, really, but especially not for the library cards) but have you gone down any Reddit Libby rabbit holes? It's the easiest way to find out what library systems you have reciprocity with and also which library memberships are worth paying for--my research tells me NOLA and Broward County / Miami are worth it (though I haven't tried myself). I still buy a ton of books but its nice to buy those you already know you love. Also one of life's little luxuries is switching from the kindle version to audio on your commute to work (all made possible by Libby)!
